Place packers lift and place a group of products into a pre-erected cases or crates. A Cartesian axis or articulated industrial robot frequently provides the basis of the machine. A special type of articulated arm robot called a delta robot is often used for pick and place machines which pick individual product items from a conveyor, for example confectionery and bakery products, and place them in trays as an intermediate packaging operation.
